A vendor is a company. The people you actually message live underneath it — each with their own role and channels (Telegram, Signal, WhatsApp, Discord, Wickr, WeChat, email, phone).
Keep the company name on your orders. That name is how PepStock groups a supplier's cost history, lead times and $/mg ranking — so putting a salesperson's name there instead splits the company's numbers across everyone you deal with.
The vendor field is a picker for the same reason: type a name that's nearly one you already have and it offers the existing supplier rather than quietly creating a second one.
